Using quote tags correctly is, to put it plainly, really really awesome. No matter what your position being able to clearly and concisely build a post which includes segments of something you are responding to makes a conversation flow much easier. Lets say you’re banging out a response to a post and you want to show the post you are responding to:
“Ketchup is really tasty”
To place this in quotes you simply need to do this:
[quote]
Ketchup is really tasty
[/quote]
Which will produce a post that looks like this:
You can then respond placing your text outside the quote tags like this,
[quote]
Ketchup is really tasty
[/quote]
No it isn’t
Which will then turn out like this:
You’re welcome.
